Introduction to Forensic Science

Forensic science is actually any science that is applied to answering a legal question by examining, evaluating or explaining physical or documentary evidence.  Criminalistics is a branch of Forensic Science which recreates the crime scene based on a specific area of expertise within forensic science or is work done in a laboratory which has as its function, the analysis of crime scene evidence.  Forensic Science has since taken on new significance with the advancement of more reliable scientific testing and protocols.
